Overview

I developed Phase Loom as the flagship instrument for Loom Instruments, bringing visual waveform synthesis and sound-design tools together in a focused interface.

The Problem

Sound design can interrupt a musical idea when waveform editing, modulation and processing are scattered across disconnected controls and pages.

What I Built

I built a waveform synthesizer with visual sound shaping, modulation, dual voice filters, built-in effects and preset browsing. The product is presented for Windows and macOS in plugin and standalone formats.

What It Does

Phase Loom lets producers start with a waveform, shape its character, add movement and finish the sound with filters and effects. Its preset library provides starting points for basses, leads, textures and sequences.

Selected Features

  • Visual waveform editing and sound shaping
  • Modulation for evolving sounds
  • Dual six-mode voice filters
  • Dedicated Filter + FX page with four effects stages
  • Factory preset library
  • Interface themes and accent choices
  • Windows VST3 and standalone formats
  • macOS Universal 2 VST3, AU and standalone formats

Design and workflow considerations

Start from a waveform or preset, shape the sound, add modulation and refine it through dual filters and built-in effects.

Technical approach

The interface brings waveform shaping, modulation, presets and processing into a visual instrument workflow. The public product presentation documents plugin and standalone formats for Windows and macOS.

The challenge addressed

Keeping synthesis depth accessible without interrupting the producer’s sound-design workflow is the core interface challenge.
